Paulette Reid became the owner of the Sidney Dental Hygiene Clinic in January, 2017. She has more than 15 years progressive working experience in the dental hygiene industry. She has worked in a variety of practices in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Vancouver Island and Pender Island in British Columbia. She has worked in many rural and remote areas throughout Canada that are under-serviced in dental hygiene care. Volunteering and provides oral health presentations on how simple daily home care can enhance ones overall health.
She has presented in elementary schools,chronic care in-house services and seniors’ residences. During her
career she has been in management, taught at the university level, presented at
many conferences, judged the CDHA poster presentations at Bethesda, Maryland
and published in Health Informatics journals in Canada. She is a Registered
Dental Hygienist in BC and a member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association.
Paulette graduated from Dalhousie University Dental Hygiene Program in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2003 and a Master of Science, Health Information Science from the University of Victoria in 2015.
Paulette takes great pride in educating the public on good oral hygiene practices. She believes oral hygiene instruction should begin with early tooth development among children and adolescents. Paulette is also passionate about the senior community and she understands well that seniors are living longer, healthier and fitter lives and she is eager to contribute to their quality of life. She stays on top of current research and emerging dental hygiene trends to help her clients by providing the best possible knowledge, instruction and tools to ensure good oral health care. Aging well and improving the quality of life are paramount to Paulette; it’s evident in the meticulous oral health care she provides her clients.
When not working, Paulette enjoys all the beauty Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands have to offer. She is busy raising her three boys and when there is any spare time she enjoys travelling, academia, hiking, and home cooked meals with family and friends.
